The FIFO Deep Dive is a series of practical guides for people who want to break into the Australian mining industry — specifically hardrock underground mining.
These guides are written by a Western Australian Miner working in the hardrock underground industry. Every role from the ground up — nipper, truck operator, service crew, charge up, bogger, long hole, jumbo — plus years on both sides of the desk, worker and management, hiring and training new starters.
The mining industry has a problem: 3 in 5 new starters fail in the first 6 months. After 2 years, only 2 in 10 are still standing. Most of them don't fail because they can't do the work — they fail because nobody told them how the system actually works.
There are plenty of websites and training companies that claim to know the industry. Most of them don't. The FIFO Deep Dive series was written to give new starters the straight truth — the same knowledge that experienced miners pick up over years on the job.
The FIFO Deep Dive is part of The Masked Maori family. Check out our other tools and programs on Gumroad.
